Interviews were conducted with young women who experienced migration to learn about their relocation experiences and interest in national identity. Additionally, a trip to Chechnya was made to study archival materials and traditional techniques.
The collection was developed as part of a graduation project and focuses on preserving national identity within the context of the Chechen people’s migration. The main goal was to create a women’s clothing line based on techniques related to the migration process and national motifs. The clothing and accessories are inspired by both historical costumes and contemporary silhouettes.
